about us

our story

We’re Becca and Luca – a couple of mountain-dwelling vegans who love cooking, baking, and exploring the Alps with our rescue dog, Nala. All of our adventures are fueled by plants (okay, not Nala – she’s carnivorous). This is our little corner of the internet, and we’re so glad you found it.

how it started

We live in the mountains, surrounded by clean air, beautiful forests, and the kind of landscapes that make you want to protect the planet at all costs. Going vegan felt like the best way to do that, to align what we eat with what we actually care about. Luca loves to cook – he’s even trained as a professional chef! Becca just really likes baking (and eating) sweet things in her free time.

why go vegan?

A plant-based diet is one of the single most impactful choices you can make for the planet. Animal agriculture is one of the leading drivers of greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation, and water use worldwide. And switching what’s on your plate addresses all of it at once. We believe the future is plant-based, not because it’s a sacrifice, but because it’s genuinely the better choice: for the earth, for animals, and for your body.

but what about protein?

We hear this question a lot, and it makes sense. The myth that vegans are somehow deficient is incredibly persistent. But plant-based protein sources are not just “good enough” – they’re exceptional. Legumes like lentils, chickpeas, and black beans are loaded with protein and fiber, and come with none of the saturated fat found in most animal proteins. Tofu and tempeh are complete proteins, meaning they contain all nine essential amino acids. Hemp seeds, edamame, and quinoa are too. Even oats, nuts, and whole grains contribute meaningfully to your daily intake.
Research increasingly suggests that plant proteins may actually be better for long-term health than animal protein — associated with lower rates of heart disease, inflammation, and certain cancers. And for athletes and active people, studies show plant-based diets support muscle building, endurance, and recovery just as effectively as omnivorous diets.
The idea that plants can’t fuel a strong, active body is simply outdated. The evidence points in the other direction.
